LOS BATZ PRESENTS ‘HÁBITOS DE
MURCIÉLAGO’
"A tribute to who we were, and a statement of who we are now."
With a sound that balances the raw energy of post-hardcore and the melodic melancholy of pop punk, Los Batz have established themselves as one of the most promising bands in Colombia’s alternative scene. Their new album, “Hábitos de Murciélago,” marks the beginning of a new creative phase — a transition in language, sound, and purpose that reflects both their artistic maturity and their desire to connect more deeply with the Latin American audience.
The album “Hábitos de Murciélago” represents a significant turning point for the band. The project was born from the desire to reconnect with their local and Latin American listeners by translating much of the material originally released in English into Spanish.
The band describes this process as “a tribute to who we were, and a statement of who we are now” — a bridge between their past and the future they are building.
Recorded between Mix Factory Studio and Lotus Studio (now Ascendo), the album preserves part of the original tracks while adding new recordings that revitalize its essence.
Production was handled by the band members themselves alongside Jack Salaa Gómez, who led the mixing and sound refinement process.
Far from being just another record, Hábitos de Murciélago works as an emotional logbook. Each song is a reflection of the human experience — confusion, routine, euphoria, loss, and resilience. Los Batz aim for their music to accompany — and give voice to — the emotions of those who listen.
“We want our songs to become part of people’s lives. For them to dance to them, scream them, cry to them, or remember them. To find in us a mirror of what they feel.”
